I always thought that there is no specific time for reflection, to share or to show solidarity ... I think any time is appropriate where spontaneous and whenever you leave our hearts. However, no reason for the arrival of these dates are often more susceptible to wear than normal or is it that as time passes you start to see life differently. I confess that for some years I have learned to see life differently, I understood that we can not close ourselves in a glass cage and live a parallel life to reality, I realized that my many and great problems can be small and insignificant compared to many other people that they must face, I understood that happiness is never complete and there is always someone crying while I laughed and that I am not allowed me indifferent to it.
This Christmas has been a little different, no big parties, without much fuss, maybe that's why I took my time to make this entry I feel is a little longer than usual, my desire is to make it a gift, a modest present for some people they do not know and neither know me, but over time I learned to admire, respect and even I felt identified with her struggle and I've come to feel very close despite the distance.
Each year of the last 11 Venezuelans have been involved in many campaigns, many have been the watchwords, but I believe that the most noble of all has been this year that is about to end, the campaign for Freedom of Political Prisoners and Persecuted. It has certainly been a tireless struggle to which many people have joined, regardless of party, because as I told a fellow twitter yesterday, political prisoners have no party, have thousands and millions of Venezuelans who support him, may not receive his visits, perhaps not all they write, but sure, like me, carry in their hearts, their thoughts and your prayers.
remember as a girl while fleeing a punishment I had to see a chapter from a novel named "Estefanía" I confess that the images I saw that day not only shocked me but it ended so marcádome I remember them now as if he had lived, at that age to know that was just a novel in which everyone acted was a relief, but over the years, when discovered that these images were the reflection of a reality that many people had lived, felt very sorry but I felt lucky and privileged to have been born and lived in a free, in a country where a reallidad as terrible as this had been ago and it left only the images of a novel, the stories of some elderly or a short, boring history class. I felt so alien to this reality and I was so selfish that I never stopped to think about those people in the sacrifice they made, in all that had to happen, or how many people had to die, that I was born in a free country, I was so selfish that even bother to learn their names, knowing who they were, I really felt so alien, so far from the reality that eventually ended up convinced that the torture and repression of national security was not an awful chapter in a novel.
Today 25 years later, that reality that I turned my back, I hit, now sadly confess that I felt the same fear I felt that afternoon, perhaps seandistintas conditions but in the end is fear same as 6 years but I have not nor is it a novel, is a reality that we consume, a reality that has touched many Venezuelan homes, a reality against we fight and we are not yet sure what their end. than if I am sure and convinced that this time will not give back, this time I will not be indifferent, this time these are political prisoners name and tyrants as well. This time assume that I am part of this story and I have a moral duty to fight for the freedom of those who today are being sacrificed so that future generations have the same privilege that I was born in a free. I pledge to contribute my best efforts not only to win their freedom but that their names will never be forgotten, that every Venezuelan know your history, so there are no more Venezuelan indifferent.
The only one political prisoner who I know personally and I visited my friend is Mazuco Commissioner, I have often written about him and discussed his case with people, I guess it is a way to prevent people forget about it. However, I must confess that I find easy to talk to him because I feel that impotence wins the battle, I find it difficult to be optimistic, I feel that words are meaningless and will not be enough to comfort him, but now I get away is not an option, I think beyond my words, he deserves to know that I'm there to support, consistent. In it, I reflected upon all political prisoners in the country, the reasons and circumstances may differ, but essentially all are paying with jail terrible crime which means for this government to think differently, to defend democracy and work for the country. They not only denied their most basic rights, they have been tortured psychologically, they have been exposed to public scorn, but mostly they have been away from his family, robbed them the chance to see their children grow, they've started from home, the damage they have done to them and their families is certainly unquantifiable. So anything we do will be enough, we can not fail in this struggle, it can not be the fight of their families, their lawyers, defenders of human rights, or politicians, or a few common ciuadadanos, should be the fight of all Venezuelans who love freedom, those who were born in freedom and we now have the duty to guarantee inexorable future generations that freedom. The commitment must be real, must go beyond a slogan, it must be more than a campaign slogan is to be understood that any of us can end in place, that their fate is also ours, that their struggle is ours, we can not fail because we must give it strength from outside, We must show that we value the sacrifices they make and are willing to sacrifice everything so that is not in vain.

They want to dedicate this poem, also a Maraco that you like .. this is my Christmas present. because I see reflected in every line, every word, because the experience of Ismael Cerna becomes effective today in our country, because freedom of conscience, nobility and fighting spirit are above the evil, deception and manipulation. For God's justice will eventually prevail over human injustice ... because four walls can not ever trample their dignity and that no court of law will never limit our dreams of freedom
A POEM FOR MY FREEDOM
what? you see that I can not even move
and I can still challenge your vain pride
I do not manage to instill fear
with your anger imbecile tyrant.
and I can still challenge your vain pride
I do not manage to instill fear
with your anger imbecile tyrant.
I am young and strong I am, I am innocent
and neither fight nor pain elusive
God has given me an independent soul, and thought
proud manly chest.
trembles at thee who are born to live in infamy
and servitude,
those who have never in spirit
meaning no ray of light that illuminates.
Those accustomed to the infamous yoke
cowardly beg your mercy,
those not afraid of being disgraced
because even the name of honor ignored.
I carry in my mind on the beautiful light
ardent enthusiasm
love freedom more than life ...
and was not born to bend the front.
why I am here proud and strong,
your fault I look serene quiet, because if you declare
my death,
can never debase the soul.
hurts ... I have in the prison unholy
honesty my name for comfort,
cares not see the light
day on my conscience if I have the Light of the sky.
Never mind that between walls and bars
sunlight, Liberty Vedes me,
if they see clear sky my eyes,
if there is something in me that chain can not.
hurts under the implacable whip, perhaps weak
wicked
to pain may weaken the body miserable, but never thought
mine. Stronger
will rise, more arrogant
show the pain hit her finery, is thought
eagle triumphant when the hurricane shakes its wings.
I care nothing for your impotent rage,
victim of pleasure, sir one day,
if all bow their heads before you
I am proud to raise mine. And your last name
Liberal bandit
you that the beasts in cruelty retainers,
you who have corrupted the youth
snake with your breath you exhale.
You, you carry poison in the bowels,
that in the midst of your pleasures Baqués,
cowardly, despicable and criminal
enrage you with defenseless children and women. You
that the crime talk too, and encarneces
man from home, the honest man,
you, murderer, thief, you a thousand times
you deserve the gallows for evil. You
, liberal, morning than in your ear
with impotent rage prosecution,
get mocked the people's voice thundering in your consciousness
sinner. Tomorrow
that this country is dead
to claim their freedom, and that fame
herald, tell the astonished world
your iniquities. While
curse your memory,
the same people who today licks your feet,
finger
inexorable history will mark as Nero, infamous. Then
those dark dens
where horror and innocence moan,
where sinister and frightening
watch the wicked minions of your crime.
Of those clubs without light and shaken by so many
cries of bitterness and grief,
where you can hear in tears and groans,
the thunder of the wrath of heaven.
bum
With voice, with extended voice that trembles
your infernal cave,
will rise each slain victim to throw
eternal damnation.
As wounds, despot, snatches
honor, faith, freedom, life, your mission is to kill
, sáciate, kill, kill and bathe
fratricidal blood.
Mata, Cain, blood spills between groans of pain
neat,
Oh! infamous, the largest of the infamous anger
stain front of your children. Here
also blood mine blood
and brave young heart
not want your forgiveness, I infamaría,
martyr rather be a slave.
hurts me that you hate, impious,
you with inhuman cruelty to kill Father
mandastes
without respect my years and gray hair.
want you to see your wrath defies, and without trembling
dying to see me,
to throw a spit in the face and tell you to die
: Damn you!
Finally my message to every one of them is that they do not lose faith, that despite how difficult it can be dark at night, always gives way to a new dawn, new day come to you sooner or later ... to their families my eternal admiration and not faint in their struggle, nor to lose faith that the family despite the distance can stay together as long as the true love and that are not only in their struggle for many people accompanying them .. even without being seen.
My wish this Christmas is that we can celebrate the next one free ... and Happy Birthday Richard ... May God bless you all.
